Why We're Superior

Discover what sets our custom work apart from the competition

True Anatomical Fit

We start from a digital scan or high-accuracy model of your teeth. The guard is designed to hug every contour, so it “snaps” into place and stays put when you talk, breathe, and take a hit.

No rocking, no slipping, no constantly biting to hold it in.

Controlled Thickness Where It Matters

Traditional guards are thick everywhere or thin in the wrong spots. With 3D design we can:

  • Reinforce critical impact zones
  • Keep edges and palate slimmer for comfort
  • Maintain consistent thickness from the first print to the tenth

This means more protection without feeling like a brick in your mouth.

Resin 3D Printing, Lab Finished

Our guards are produced using dental-grade resin on high-precision 3D printers, then cured and polished in a controlled lab workflow.

Compared to sheet materials, this method provides:

  • Sharper, more accurate detail
  • Smoother internal surfaces
  • Better long-term shape stability

Comfortable High Borders for Extra Coverage

Guard Forge guards are designed with extended labial and buccal height to protect more of the tooth and soft tissue area, without digging into the gums.

The high borders spread impact forces over a larger area, improving protection vs low-profile or poorly contoured guards.

What Makes a Guard Forge Mouthguard Different?

Most “custom” mouthguards are still made with old-school vacuum forming: a flat sheet of plastic is heated and sucked over a model. It works but it has limits. Uneven thickness, guesswork in high-impact zones, and bulky edges are common, even from professional labs.

Guard Forge guards are built differently.

Every guard is designed digitally and 3D printed in resin, allowing us to control the fit and thickness with far greater precision than manual techniques. Instead of relying on a sheet of material, we build your guard layer by layer, following your exact anatomy and the demands of your sport.

The result is a guard that feels slimmer, more secure, and more protective than what most athletes are used to, even compared to other custom options..

Boil-and-Bite vs Guard Forge

Boil-and-bite guards are designed to fit “everyone,” which means they truly fit no one. They often:

  • Sit loose or require constant biting to stay in
  • Thin out in the exact areas that should be thickest
  • Distort over time with heat and use

Guard Forge guards are:

  • Individually designed from your anatomy
  • Digitally controlled for thickness and coverage
  • Reproducible if you lose it, we can print another from the same file

Once you feel a true digital custom guard, it’s hard to go back to anything else.
